2/10/2018 Yu Darvish, ChC, P
A person with direct knowledge of the deal tells The Associated Press that Darvish and the Cubs have reached agreement on a $126 million, six-year contract. The person spoke Saturday on condition of anonymity because there was no official announcement. The deal was first reported by The Athletic.

Analysis: Darvish finished last season with the Dodgers, helping them knock out the defending champion Cubs in the playoffs to reach the World Series. The Japanese star is expected to take the rotation spot of Jake Arrieta, who became a free agent after finishing the year in Chicago. Darvish is a four-time All-Star, but has had injury problems. He began last year with Texas and was traded to the Dodgers in July, going a combined 10-12 with a 3.86 ERA.
2/6/2018 Ervin Santana, Min, P
Santana will miss the start of the regular season after undergoing unexpected surgery on his right middle finger Tuesday. Santana is expected to need 10 to 12 weeks of rehabilitation before he can pitch in a major league game, which would keep him out of the rotation until at least mid-April.

Analysis: Santana has had trouble with the digit before and had it examined by X-ray and MRI test after the 2017 season. He was treated with an injection at the time, but the injury resurfaced last week. Santana was an All-Star last year, going 16-8 with a 3.28 ERA in 33 starts. He started in the AL wild-card game, which the Twins lost at Yankee Stadium.
2/5/2018 Todd Frazier, NYM, 3B
According to multiple reports, Frazier has agreed to a two-year, $17 million contract with the Mets pending a physical.

Analysis: The New Jersey native owns a weak .220 average over the past two seasons, but he belted a career-high 40 homers with the White Sox in 2016 and had 27 while splitting last year with Chicago and the Yankees. With David Wright's career still in doubt due to a chronic back injury, Frazier will take over as the Mets' third baseman with Asdrubal Cabrera likely to play second.
2/2/2018 Andrew Susac, Bal, C
The Orioles have acquired Susac from the Milwaukee Brewers for a player to be named or cash.

Analysis: Susac, who turns 28 in March, is expected to compete for playing time behind projected starter Caleb Joseph. Susac played eight games for Milwaukee last year, going 1 for 12. He spent most of the season at Triple-A Colorado Springs, batting .205 with eight home runs and 35 RBIs.
