Analysis: Meyer retired the first 14 batters before walking Anthony Rendon in the fifth inning, then Brian Goodwin doubled in the sixth for the Nationals' only hit of the game. Meyer needed only 88 pitches to go a career-high seven innings, and he did it against the NL's best hitting team. He had walked 41 batters in his first 60 1/3 innings of the season before issuing only one Wednesday.

Analysis: Though walks remain an concern for the 6-foot-9 right-hander, he continues to excel at Angel Stadium. Meyer is 2-0 with a 1.65 ERA in six home starts and 1-4 with a 6.75 ERA on the road. Unfortunately, the former Twin's next start comes in Minnesota against his ex-team on Monday.

|June 13 8:41 AM PT9:41 AM MT10:41 AM CT11:41 AM ET11:41 ET15:41 GMT23:41 8:41 AM MST10:41 AM EST11:11 AM VEN19:41 UAE10:41 AM CT-Alex Meyer allowed two runs on five hits and five walks in 4.2 innings as the Los Angeles Angels lost to the New York Yankees 5-3 on Monday. Meyer struck out five, ending the game with a 4.05 ERA and 1.55 WHIP on the season.
Analysis: Control issues continue to plague Meyer, who has issued 29 walks in just 40 innings. That's a big reason why he has failed to get through five innings in half of his eight starts and remains a poor fantasy option regardless of opponent.
