NEW YORK (AP) Vancouver Canucks defenseman Erik Gudbranson has been suspended for one game without pay for his hit from behind on Boston Bruins forward Frank Vatrano.

Gudbranson hit Vatrano from behind at 6:13 of the first period of Vancouver's game at Boston on Thursday night.

The Canucks blue-liner also received a game misconduct and a fighting major after being challenged by Boston's Tim Schaller following the hit.
