Hattori releases Truck champion Moffitt

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) Brett Moffitt needs a job for next season to defend his NASCAR Truck Series championship.

Kurt Busch moving to Chip Ganassi Racing

CONCORD, N.C. (AP) Kurt Busch and sponsor Monster Energy will move to Chip Ganassi Racing next season for Busch's 20th season in NASCAR.

The partnership announced Tuesday is a one-year contract for Busch to drive the No. 1 Chevrolet with primary sponsorship from Monster. It is believed the one season as teammate to Kyle Larson will be Busch's final year of fulltime NASCAR competition. Read More...

LAS VEGAS (AP) Chase Elliott has been voted NASCAR's most popular driver, ending a 15-year run for superstar Dale Earnhardt Jr.

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates (AP) Seven-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson and two-time Formula One champion Fernando Alonso drove for fun together around the Abu Dhabi F1 track on a blazing hot Saturday afternoon.

Former driver imprisoned for 10 years

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) A former NASCAR driver has been sentenced to 10 years and 10 months in prison for trying to have sex with an underage girl.

Court records show that 60-year-old Rick Crawford was sentenced Monday in Orlando federal court. He was convicted in August of attempted enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity. Read More...

Maryland volunteer wins France Award

LAS VEGAS (AP) A volunteer with the Maryland-based Believe In Tomorrow Children's Foundation has been awarded the eighth annual Betty Jane France Humanitarian Award during NASCAR's season-ending awards ceremony.

Carl Dakes will receive a $100,000 donation for the foundation that provides hospital and housing services to critically ill children and their families. The award is determined by an online vote and honors the philanthropic ideals of the NASCAR Foundation's late chairperson. Read More...
